Dragons, Bees and BMW’s – Getting to know three TSI team members

By Dan Ayars, Business Development Director with assistance from each respective subject

I’ve fallen behind on staff introductions so it’s time to get caught up and meet these additions to our team.

Brian DeVito, Network Operations Center Technician

Brian DevitoBrian is a capable and driven IT professional who has spent 2 years in the IT management field with more than 15 years of amateur and personal experience with IT. A graduate of both Frostburg State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Directing and Playwriting and University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration, Brian’s experience with computing stems back to his early years with his first computer being a self-built Windows 95 machine. His current focus within TechSolutions is working towards his certification in Configuring Windows Devices for Windows 10.

Born in Hendersonville, North Carolina, Brian’s family never stayed in one place for more than a couple of years, moving up and down the east coast until he graduated from Frostburg State in 2008. Shortly thereafter his father, Carmen DeVito, received a promotion to director of DuPont’s Asia-Pacific Titanium Technologies IT Division, which resulted in the family moving to Singapore. While there Brian attended the University of New Brunswick with his brother, and TechSolutions co-worker, Chris. Upon returning to the US, Brian found work at Computer Aid, Inc. as a help desk representative before transitioning to a more technical role with TechSolutions.

In his free time, Brian enjoys playing video games with his friends; cooking for friends and family; painting and collecting miniature figures; and playing Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop games.

Emmalee Lawrence, Sales Coordinator

Emmalee LawrenceEmmalee is a Delaware native and graduated from the University of Delaware in 2011, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services. Her favorite aspect of working in IT, a world that is always changing and upgrading, is that there is always something new to learn.
Outside of the office, Emmalee loves cooking, working out and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys running 5K races, especially those in support of one of her favorite organizations, Preston’s March for Energy, which raises funds to purchase adaptive bikes for children with special needs. Her favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, which she spends hiking with family in the mountains in Pennsylvania.

Emmalee has a diverse background that includes working in the early childhood development field as well as in the skincare, health and wellness world. Her favorite movies are Bridesmaids and The Bee Movie. She loves everything orange and almost all types of music, especially anything from the 70’s and 80’s. Recently married she lives with her husband Mark and four-legged fur child, Brody.

Alex Flaxenberg, Field Technician

Alex Flexenberg I have always loved technology and taking things apart since I was a young child. I also really love helping people, so why not do both!”, is how Alex responded to the question of why he likes IT. Sounds like he landed in the right place when this 5-year IT veteran came on board here at TechSolutions. Born in New Jersey, Alex not only graduated from Penn State University but also worked there as well providing tech support to students. Prior to working at TechSolutions Alex was employed at YMCA of Delaware and is a certified Lifeguard Trainer.

Free time includes working on and fixing up older cars with an affinity towards BMW’s, his current mode of transportation and as evidenced by his membership in the BMW Car Club of America. However German is not his cuisine of choice, so he is likely to pass on the Schnitzel and opt for Chinese or Japanese cuisine possibly enjoyed with one of his favorite movies, Shawshank Redemption. Live music and travel are also passions with one of his most recent adventures entailing a road trip to Michigan for the Electric Forest Festival an event featuring electronic music and jam bands.
