Due to a potential for overheating and catching fire, Microsoft has issued a recall for AC power cords sold with all Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2 computers and with any Surface Pro 3 computers sold before March 15, 2015. If these cords are wrapped tightly, twisted or pinched over an extended period of time, they may overheat and cause a fire. There have been dozens of documented reports of the cables catching fire due to overheating.
